Unify2 PowerRoute 1.0 (Lync Version)

Over 50 countries throughout the world, including India, Pakistan, China, Brazil, Bahrain and Algeria, have telecommunication regulations that place restrictions on what calls may be routed over IP and what calls must be routed over the PSTN. In order for enterprises to deploy Lync Server world-wide, they must comply with regulations in all countries they have offices in. Currently Lync Server does not have the native capability to meet these routing regulations as it cannot route calls based on the actual location of the user. For example, a US-based employee visiting Bangalore, India must have all of their PSTN calls routed through a local PSTN gateway in Bangalore. This limitation becomes a deployment blocking factor for any enterprise since there is no way to comply with these regulations with a native Lync Server deployment alone.

Unify2's PowerRoute 1.0 enables enterprises to comply with country specific telecom regulations by augmenting Lync Server's routing capability with a powerful routing engine that takes into account each call participant's location and any regulations that apply to those users based on their actual location inside that country. Not only can users leverage Lync Server from their base corporate office, but they can continue to use the product while visiting a remote enterprise site. (In future versions, users will have access to Lync Server externally from a hotel or home office.) - PowerRoute 1.0 supports enabling compliance for all types of calls, including basic two party calls, forwarded calls, transferred calls, call park and retrieval, ad-hoc conference calls and scheduled conference calls. Simply put, PowerRoute 1.0 enables enterprises to deploy Lync Server 2010 world-wide, enabling them to benefit from Lync Server rich communications while complying with the various national telecom regulations in the countries they operate in leveraging a simple IT admin configurable / managed country specific rules engine.

Unlike traditional PBX solutions that require a partitioned PBX solution where each user requires two phones on separate networks -- one for internal corporate communications and the other for external communications, PowerRoute 1.0 enables enterprises to deploy a single global communication solution that enables users to communicate with internal and external parties even in regulated countries. Enterprises benefit from the lower initial and ongoing costs by deploying and maintaining a single Unified Communications and Collaboration solution to meet their needs on a world-wide basis.
